Overview: This article will introduce the procedure on how to set up a Foscam camera with a static IP Address.
Step 1: Find the Gateway IP Address (Router’s LAN IP)
• The Router’s LAN IP address is the gateway of the network; normally this can be found on a label usually underneath or on the back of the router.
• If the default IP address of the router was changed navigate to this article to find it.

• In this example, the test router’s LAN IP address is 192.168.1.1
In this case the camera can be setup with the IP address of 192.168.1.100 (the last numbers of the address can be changed between a range of 2-253)
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 (routers LAN IP, same as the computer’s gateway)
DNS server: 8.8.8.8 (or the same as the gateway)
Step 2:
Setup a static IP address on the camera.
1)
Method one: Use the Foscam VMS.
Add the camera to the Foscam VMS, go to Setup-->Network-->IP to select No for "Obtain IP from DHCP" and save it.
Meanwhile you can change the IP address to the numbers you want.
2)
Method two: Use the Equipment Search
Tool
• Launch the Equipment Search Tool.
• After the program launches all the Foscam products found on the network should be listed (note: disable all virtual network drivers as they will interfere with proper operation of this program.)
• Find the appropriate camera and right click it.
• Navigate to Network Configuration and uncheck the check box for “Obtain IP from Server”
• Input the IP Settings and the camera’s username and password. Once this is completed click OK.
