\r\nNote: If this is the first time the camera is being logged into please follow the links below for the appropriate web browser before proceeding to install the proper web browser plugin.
\r\nFor how to install the plug-in on Windows computer, please see here
\r\nFor how to install the plug-in on MAC computer, please see here
\r\nPre-paration:
\r\n1.(Skip this step if the camera is already configured and verified as connected to the network.) Apply power to the camera and connect it to the router via an ethernet cable.
\r\n2.Verify that the camera and the computer are connected to the same network.
\r\nStep 1: Download and install the Equipment Search Tool (skip this step of the software is already installed)
\r\nOfficial download site: http://www.foscam.com/download-center/software-tools.html
\r\nNote: Two tools are available one for Windows based computers and one for MacOS
\r\nStep 2: Run the Equipment Search Tool software on the computer.
\r\nAny Foscam cameras connected to the network will be displayed in the Window.
\r\nNote the IP Address of the camera that is to be configured.
\r\nNote: On a Windows based computer be sure to disable any virtual network drivers that may be installed. They will interfere with the Equipment Search Tool and prevent it from accessing the LAN. If you are unable to see any Foscam products check for these drivers under the Device Manager.
\r\nThis type of driver is installed by Oracle Virtual Box.
\r\n
\r\nDouble clicking on the IP address of the camera will open the default web browser. On a Windows based computer be sure that Microsoft Edge, IE, Chrome or Firefox is used. On MacOS be sure to use Safari. Disable any Pop Up Blockers that may be running or it will interfere with the interface to the camera.\r\n
\r\n\tStep 3: If manually launching a web browser enter the IP address and port number for the camera.
\r\nFrom the example above to login to the FN3109H camera enter the following line.
\r\nhttp://192.168.15.23:88
\r\nPress the Enter key.
\r\nThe login page for the camera should appear on the browser window.
\r\nEnter the username and password for the camera. If this is the first time the camera is being logged into the default username is Admin followed by a blank password. During a first-time login situation, you will be prompted to enter a new username and password for the camera. Be sure to notate this information somewhere for future reference.\r\n
\r\n\tFollow the troubleshooting steps below to resolve issues preventing the Foscam App from accessing the video feed of a camera.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tStep 5: Change the P2P port of the camera in the event the port is being blocked by a firewall of the router or the ISP.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tIf your camera supports to change the P2P port number like below, you can change the P2P port to any number between 10000 to 60000.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\t \r\n
\r\n\tStep 6: Refer to https://www.foscam.com/faqs/view.html?id=243 to set Primary DNS server of camera to 8.8.8.8\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tStep 7: Check for any firmware updates that may be needed on the camera and be sure that the Foscam App is up to date with the latest version. Once updated attempt the connection again.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tStep 8: If all above steps do not solve your case, please send the UID of your camera to support@foscam.com for help. \r\n

Normally the issue arises during the first time a new product is being connected to a WIFI network. Common mistakes can include typing one wrong character in for the password, slight compatibility problems, or a step that may have been skipped while following directions. Follow the recommendations below for assistance in correcting this.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tFirst of all, make sure that your camera is in \"ready for wifi configuration\" mode. \r\n
\r\nStep 1: Verify the wireless signal is strong enough for a successful connection to the camera.\r\n\tStep 3: Check to see if the wireless password has any special characters. \r\n
\r\n• Any special characters for example could be ^&*$%#. Remove any specialized passwords from the SSID on the wireless router. Update the password information on the camera and attempt the connection to the network again.\r\n\t• Install the firmware as per the exact instructions of the manufacturer.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tStep 8: Repeat the configuration process for the camera after performing the above steps.
\r\n• Attempt to configure the camera for the wireless router you are attempting to access. Be sure the camera is relatively close to the router during the configuration process.
\r\n• Consult the full User’s Manual for the camera for alternative methods to configure the camera for wireless access.
\r\n• Once theSSID, encryption type and password are setup for the camera it should connect to the wireless router automatically.\r\n
\r\n\tFirst of all, we suggest to use our new software Foscam VMS which does not need any plugin to view and manage the camera on computers.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tPlease go to https://www.foscam.com/downloads/app_software.html download and install it. If you insist to login the camera with web browsers, please continue to see below.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tThis article will introduce the reasons and workarounds to install Foscam browser\r\nplugins. Foscam plugins can be prevented from installation due to ant-virus\r\nsoftware, pop up blockers, a lack of administrative permissions, etc.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tFollow the steps below which provide common workarounds for these\r\nproblems.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tProblem 1: Pop Up blocker is preventing the web browser from\r\nrecognizing a browser plug-in is needed to be installed/executed before viewing\r\nvideo on a Foscam camera. \r\n
\r\n\r\n\tSolution: Either disable the Pop Up Blocker temporarily when using\r\nFoscam cameras/NVRS or enable popup windows during sessions with the camera.\r\nEnabling pop ups during the web sessions with the camera will configure the\r\nblocker to allow extra software/plugins to run in the background while using\r\nthat web browser to interface with the camera. Allowing the blocker to run\r\nuntil it is properly configured may cause erratic performance while attempting\r\nto use our products until all the correct web sites associated with the camera\r\nare stored in the pop up blockers cache… Each web page for the camera will need\r\nto be added if you are going to attempt this… For best performance, it is\r\nrecommended just to temporarily disable it all together. The alternative method\r\nis a more advanced approach so use caution if you attempt to keep the blocker\r\nenabled…. Also note that if the camera does not have a fixed IP address the\r\nURLs for the camera will constantly change over time.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tProblem 2: The plugin installation is blocked by antivirus software\r\nrunning routinely in the background. \r\n
\r\n\r\n\tSolution: To setup antivirus\r\nsoftware to allow the plugin to install, please see this article.\r\n
\r\n\r\n\tProblem 3: Lack of administrative rights is preventing installation of the web browser plugin.
\r\nSolution: Run the software with administrative rights.\r\n
\r\n\t Windows OS
\r\n• The installation of web browser plugins normally requires administrative level access to install the plugin.
\r\n• Windows OS: Login to the operating system with a user account that has administrative privileges. Download the plugin file; after the download is complete locate the file.
\r\n• Right click the downloaded file and choose the option from the menu that appears “Run as administrator.”
\r\n \r\n
\r\n\t• Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of the software.
\r\n• In most instances, this should allow installation of the software. If the software is still not allowed to be installed contact the IT department or Administrator of the specific machine for assistance to install the software.\r\n
\r\n\t MacOS (also known as OS X)
\r\n• If the user account which is currently logged into does not have administrative rights a window will pop up asking for login credentials. Enter your username and password to allow for the installation of the software.\r\n
\r\n\t• Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of the software.
\r\n• In most instances, this should allow installation of the software. If the software is still not allowed to be installed contact the IT department or Administrator of the specific machine for assistance to install the software.
\r\n \r\n
\r\n\tProblem 4: Internet Explorer security settings are too high preventing the installation and possibly blocking the download of the plugin.
\r\nSolution: Open Internet Explorer and navigate to Tool → Internet Options → Security → Custom Level → ActiveX Control and Plug-ins
\r\nEnable the following three options
\r\n1) Download unsigned ActiveX controls
\r\n2) Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe
\r\n3) Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins
\r\nClose Internet Explorer and re-launch the program. Attempt the installation of the plugin.
\r\n \r\n
\r\n\t \r\n
\r\n\tProblem 5: MacOS system security settings are too high. \r\n
\r\n\r\n\tSolution: Adjust system settings to allow for the installation of the appropriate Foscam web browser plugins.\r\n
\r\nClick on the Apple icon located in the top left corner of the Finder task bar.\r\n\t(1) If your camera is R2,R2E,R4,C2,FI9900P,FI9928P,FI9961EP,FI9900EP,FI9901EP,Z2,VD1/DBW5,F41/FLC,S41/SPC,SD2/HT2,SD2X,D4Z/VZ4,C2M V5/C2M V6,X3/X3E/R3/R5/X5/X4,G4C,SD4,R2C/R2M,R4S/R4M,G2EP/QJ2/FI9912EP,G2/FI9902P/FI9912P,G4/QJ4/G4EP,D2EP,V5EP,V8EP, you can format your micro SD card on Foscam app or Foscam VMS directly by click the Format button.\r\n
