Why am I not getting local alarm recordings on the SD card?
Overview: This article covers troubleshooting steps to resolve no alarm recordings on the SD card. Step 1: Verify the configured alarm settings are setup correctly on the camera. Click here for instructions on how to setup alarm recordings on the SD card Step 2: Verify there was a motion detection event and that the alarm was triggered.
Navigate to Settings → Status → Log and verify the alarm was triggered. (This will also verify the settings.)
On Foscam VMS:
On PC browser:
Step 3: Reformat the SD card either on the computer or some Foscam cameras have the ability to format the card while it is installed in the camera.
Step 4: Repeat the test again to verify files are being stored on the SD card.
Note: If Windows File Explorer is being used to access the SD card while it is installed in the camera Windows will treat the card as a network drive. Testing conducted under Windows 10 indicates the when the username and password are entered the check box for saving the information must be checked for the operating system to properly access the card. Standby for a few minutes if the camera is writing files/accessing the card. Clicking the Refresh button on the Window will reveal new files are they are completed.
